Amber Lily Studio x Helena Powell
From exploring how we process colour and beginning to question how we, as designers, perceive our own waste. This project began as a small experiment to explore how we could be playful with colour and step outside the box with designing and developing pieces that we hope you will love as much as we have creating them.
As I walk you through the steps of creating and how we have looked into a variety of different colour trends, from both interior and fashion, to the collaborative process, to the final pieces that are available.

Initial Research
The thoughts started with the woven fabric from the designs that I
created with the remaining warps and colours that have been inspired by Scotland and Suffolk. These small off-cuts are taken to Amber, where we talk through the story between each of the samples and how to further the colour story and keep the essence of the places we want to convey.
Each piece is an abstract colour story, conveying place through the associated colour and texture from these places. With landscapes and cityscapes deeply rooted in both our practice, we wanted to bring together a combined way of storytelling to each artwork.
Exploring Scotland and East Anglia
Explore these stories with each of our pieces, from in depth description of place and a sense of travel; from waterfalls, cityscape breaks to the peacefield fiels with their spring flowers starting to bloom. Each piece is remenisent and we hope to transport you to the places we love to have an adventure to!
