Exploring dye and water wastage has always been crucial to my practice, and I am genuinely pleased to share with you my passion project. This is a one-of-a-kind reversible digitally printed scarf with a multitude of colours that capture the essence of the treasures that can be found at the Dunvegan Pier, on the Isle of Skye. Printing with digital methods has allowed for an almost hand-painted effect but with a unique colour blend that varies from every pixel in the design, creating a truly irreplaceable design, creating an almost ikat or hand painted look with a wider variety of colours. Finished with brushed fringes and a careful hem stitch to ensure you are the focus of this timeless design.

Handwoven in Glasgow, Scotland, this 100% silk scarf has been carefully designed to ensure your comfort and have minimal impact on our planet. From my previous training with silk mills and silk handweavers, I have found this biodegradable fibre a pleasure in all aspects, from the colours to how the piece moves and drapes around the body. This scarf is no exception, with colour being critical to the design and using a teaspoon and a half of dye to create vibrant colours and minimal water within the dye and finishing process. Sustainability is the focus of my work, so this piece has been designed with longevity and dyes where the colour lasts but has minimal impact on the planet; each dye is mixed and dyed specifically for each scarf digitally to ensure perfectionism with each process, producing a quality heirloom with classic designs. Each thread is handled individually to ensure minimal wastage within the weaving process, combining the art of mathematics and design. These are highlighted with the abstract damask, shaded weave, structure to give this scarf a shaded pattern that allows a reversible design.

To ensure this scarf lasts, handwash in warm water with a dash of soap and steam iron when dry to ensure the glimmer returns ready for your next event.
