Handwoven with a fine silk scarf. Inspired by Glasgow Green on a blue summers day with small hints of red, giving a subtle nod to the Peoples Palace holding its pride centre of the Green, this scarf is illuminated by calmingly soft blues and the vibrate green with a shaded warp and weft woven pattern that captures the sketches designed from the waves that come from the Clyde that the Dear Green Place looks over.. This scarf uses hand-painted warp and small-batch dye techniques and minimal water and dye wastage, allowing rich colours and minimal impact on the environment.

I am presenting a one-of-a-kind hand-painted fine-weight silk scarf with intricate details inspired by traditional Sudbury Silk Jacquard weaving but with a modern twist. Drawing inspiration from the places I call home, this scarf translates elements of the river flowing within the organically inspired weave structure, highlighting the subtle soft hues of the blues and vibrant greens inspired by the Dear Green Place.. This fine-weight scarf is woven at just over 60 ends per inch, threads within the warp, and each weft thread is carefully placed by hand. Carefully hand-hemmed stitched finished, this scarf elevates outfits with each detail highlighting how it drapes around you.

Handwoven in Glasgow, Scotland, this 100% silk scarf has been carefully designed to ensure your comfort and have minimal impact on our planet. From my previous training with silk mills and silk handweavers, I have found this biodegradable fibre a pleasure in all aspects, from the colours to how the piece moves and drapes around the body This scarf’s composition is a layer of hand-dyed silk, using a water and dye conserving technique. Sustainability is crucial to my work, so this piece has been created with longevity and dyes where the colour lasts but has minimal impact on the planet; each dye is mixed and dyed specifically for each scarf. The colours are carefully curated with the details in how the structure shimmers within the light. Each thread is handled individually to ensure minimal wastage within the weaving process.

To ensure this scarf lasts, handwash in warm water with a drop of soap and steam iron when dry to ensure the glimmer returns ready for your next event.
